When you walk through the candy isle at your grocery store, I’m sure you’ve seen the big bags of M&M’s. Have you ever noticed there are no big bags of the cute little M&M’s Minis alongside of them? This is because Mars Chocolate (makers of M&M’s) wants you to buy these cute tubes for your kids which typically runs from $1.34 to $1.99.
Here’s what M&M’s does not want you to know: In the baking section at most grocery stores, Walmart and even Target, they sell a big bag of milk and dark chocolate M&M’s Minis for baking cookies!!! Woohoo! One bag of milk chocolate M&M’s Minis is $2.48 (Walmart). By refilling the M&M’s Minis tube you already have, you’ll save at least .85 cents per tube. That means each tube of M&M’s Minis you refill will cost .49 cents each, opposed to $1.34-$1.99!
Here’s the math breakdown:
$1.34 for one large M&M’s Minis tube.
$2.48 for one bag of milk chocolate M&M’s Minis – one of these bags will fill up a tube 5 times.
So, if you bought 5 tubes at $1.34 each, it would cost you $6.70.
Or, you could fill up the tube you already have with 1 bag (at $2.48) five times. This would bring your cost per tube to .49 each.
You end up saving .85 each tube or a total of $4.25 on 5 tubes!!!
Happy Saving! xo, Tammy & Lora
